UNVEILING THE HEART OF PUBLIC SPEAKING: MY UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE WITH FUTURE FORTE AND THE AFL
After the completion of the third session of the Empower Volunteering Program, we were eager to hear the volunteers thoughts on the overall experience. Clara, a dedicated volunteer and Executive Assistant at Future Forte’s team, kindly shared her insights and revisions from the session.

Last Saturday marked a journey that pushed my boundaries and uncovered an incredible strength within me. Joining Session 3 of the Public Speaking and Confidence-Building with Future Forrte, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. Little did I know that this session would be a life-changing adventure, unraveling layers of doubt and uncovering the power of my own voice.
As the session began, I could feel the excitement building up. Anu, a warm and inspiring public speaker, led us through the exploration of public speaking. The way Anu opened up about her own experiences left a lasting impression on me. It was as if she had opened a door to a world of emotions that many of us had experienced but were often hesitant to acknowledge. With every sentence, I felt myself drawn into Anu's narrative. Hearing her speak made me realise that this session was about more than just techniques – it was about embracing our vulnerabilities as a driving force for growth. Her words lingered long after she had finished speaking, a reminder that we are all on a journey of self-discovery, and it's the moments of raw authenticity that truly connect us.
Until now, I still remember the stories of vulnerability, insecurities, and dreams on the journey of mastering public speaking from my fellow friends. The atmosphere was one of acceptance and understanding, as if we were all on this path of self-discovery together. It was in these stories that I found a sense of connection, realising that confidence wasn't a solitary endeavor, but actually a collective voyage.
Also, a big thanks to Regil for a beautiful wrapping up with her beaming smile and an aura of enthusiasm. it was a heartfelt appreciation for the energy, passion, and genuine care that she had infused into every word.
What excites us the most was problably the game between North Melbourne and Essendon in the AFL. For an international student like me, getting to experience the adrenaline-pumping moments, the collective cheers, and the nail-biting suspense are somewhat make me love Melbourne a little bit more. It was not just a match; it was a shared memory, a bond that linked us and a spark of warmth during winter that made me realise that there are so much beautiful people out there willing to help me in my next journey in Melbourne.
Thinking back on that day fills me with gratitude for the profound experience. The chance to dive into public speaking, conquer my fears, and then soak in the energy of the game was an incredible gift. And I’m hoping for even more meaningful opportunities to grow, connect, and celebrate life's emotional tapestry with Future Forte ❤️.
