Latin Stories Australia

Latin Stories Australia’s vision is to advance multiculturalism and social cohesion in Australia in a way that is respectful to both the Latin American migrants and the wider Australian society. 

The mission is to provide platforms that (1) increase the sense of belonging, acceptance and legitimacy of the Latin American migrant community, (2) create awareness of the Latin American contribution to Australia’s social capital and diversity and (3) build opportunities for social cohesion for Latin American migrants, especially for those in need. 

The Student Source

The Student Source is your trusted ally for the questions and concerns that arise as an international student adapting to a new life in a foreign country. In a world where accessing reliable information can be challenging, it serves as a tailored, all-in-one hub for answers that resonate with you delivered by Student Ambassadors who understand the experience firsthand.

We believe in your unique journey, and to support that, we offer a platform for showcasing your stories, struggles, and triumphs. It’s a place where you can find friendship and have some fun! Here, you'll find an open dialogue and, most importantly, a community with similar interests and experiences dedicated to overcoming challenges through the power of knowledge and education.

We provide a space for sharing experiences, fostering connections that contribute to your personal and professional development. Our ability to link your talents and qualifications with eager employers, and facilitate an exchange of vital information addressing strategic challenges and opportunities across all aspects of education, is made possible thanks to a joint partnership between The Lygon Group and Voyage.

Startspace

StartSpace is a business support service and community for people starting out on their business development journey. Membership is free and gives you access to a coworking space, free programs and events to support your business development and a like-minded community.

They offer a range of programs to help you develop your business idea, including training, workshops, mentoring and networking events. You’ll meet and work alongside a community of new and early stage business founders at the same stage as you, and will have the chance to build networks and partnerships. We have two spaces. The ground floor has space for 125 members at a time, with our paid StartSpace Loft area available for up to 48 members. Enabled by the Christine Christian Foundation, StartSpace is in the Ideas Quarter at State Library Victoria, in the center of Melbourne.

STEM Sisters

STEM Sisters is home to a diverse group of female international students and female migrants committed to an intersectional approach for empowering women of Color in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.

Gender bias is a heavy contributor to the issues women face in trying to secure a STEM job. Additionally, racial bias plays an equally trying role for people of colour in western communities. The difficulty is elevated with the combination of the two, which is why Women of Colour in STEM needs more support. 

PMW

Professional Migrant Women (PMW) is an organisation that aims to maximise the potential and contribution of professional migrant women through meaningful employment. PMW provides a supportive community, access to professional networks and opportunities for professional development. Professional migrant women face many challenges when it comes to entering the workforce. From family responsibilities, social isolation, lack of understanding of the Australian job market, lack of personal support and lack of professional networks, finding a job is not an easy task. 

PMW’s aim is to close the gap between migration and professional employment for migrant women by providing: * Professional development opportunities * Build personal connections * Grow professional networks * Develop work readiness skills * Getting support from other professional migrant women.

Gals en Australia

Gals en Australia is a group that focuses on the professional development of Latin and Hispanic women in Australia. A safe space where you are truly seen and celebrated for who you are. 

Members of Gals en Australia community can find workshops, networking events, jobs and mentoring programs designed to help them thrive in their professional development. 

Gals en Australia strive to help women in our community succeed in their careers by providing guidance, support, workshops and employment opportunities.

One Red Step

One Red Step is a social equity consulting practice that addresses social and economic disadvantage. One Red Step works with clients to listen to, and co-design with, communities and stakeholders to improve equity in social policy. We work to address gender inequality, family violence, homelessness, disability, disadvantage and marginalisation. One Red Step’s clients which include Federal and State Government, NFP and corporates, who want community-led system change and co-designed solutions to issues of equity and equality.
