Program Overview

  • The Future Forte Inspire Mentoring Program aims to foster professional and personal growth by facilitating one-on-one mentoring relationships between experienced professionals (mentors) and international students (mentees).

  • The program aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, career guidance, and networking opportunities that are invaluable to international students who aspire to begin their career in Australia

  • We will provide mentor - mentee orientation and training, to ensure your mentoring relationship starts smoothly.

  • The Future Forte team will regularly check in with mentors and mentees to ensure the mentoring relationship is progressing smoothly. Support and resources will be provided to facilitate effective mentoring and engagement.

Program Structure

  • The program will run for 5 months, from January to May 2025

  • The program will begin and end with online sessions for mentees, and be followed by an evaluation survey.

  • Mentors and mentees will be expected to meet for 45 minutes to an hour, once or twice a month throughout the program duration. These meetings can be conducted in person or virtually, depending on the availability and preferences of both parties.

  • Mentors and Mentees are expected to discuss a particular issue or topic identified by the mentee (see topic ideas below).

  • Busy times for both parties need to be communicated clearly upfront at the beginning of the program, to accommodate expectations.

  • The program aims to provide mentorship opportunities for students in their final or penultimate year from a variety of fields and backgrounds.

  • Guidance and Support: Mentees receive valuable guidance, advice, and support from experienced professionals.

Networking Opportunities: Mentees can expand their professional network by connecting with mentors who may have extensive industry contacts.

Skill Development: Mentees can enhance their skills and knowledge through the expertise shared by their mentors. In addition, the communications skills that mentees develop through this program will also be invaluable.

Career Exploration: Mentees gain a deeper understanding of their desired career path and work environment in Australia through insights and information provided by mentors.

Personal Growth: Mentees experience personal growth as mentors offer guidance on development, self-confidence, and resilience.

  • Impact and Contribution: Mentors have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives and careers of mentees who are international students seeking opportunities

Leadership and Mentorship Skills: Mentoring enhances mentors' leadership and mentorship skills.

Networking and Learning: Mentors gain fresh perspectives, insights, and ideas from mentees, fostering continuous learning.

Personal Satisfaction: Mentoring is personally fulfilling as mentors witness the growth and success of their mentees in Australia and beyond.

Professional Reputation and Recognition: Mentoring enhances mentors' professional reputation and recognition within their industry, reflecting on your knowledge and work.

  • Mentees will be matched with mentors based on their disciplines and goals. The matching process will take place during the Future Forte Conference in September, where mentees can meet potential mentors and officially join the program.

  • Mentorship selection will be conducted on an ongoing basis.

Successful applicants will be notified by email and Future Forte App, the program offer letter will be sent shortly thereafter.
