TASNEEM CHOPRA

A Cross-cultural Consultant, Tasneem addresses the management of diversity and intersectionality in leadership and communication across Australia.

For her efforts in cultural competence and community engagement she was acknowledged with an OAM (Order of Australia Medal) in 2020. This follows her being named an Anti-Racism Champion by the Australian Human Rights Commission in 2019.

Tasneem is a Director for The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) and an advisor to InTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence and La Trobe University School of Humanities. She has also enjoyed governance affiliations with Ambulance Victoria, the Australian Muslim Women’s Centre for Human Rights and Lentil As Anything

 TEDxMelbourne presenter, Tasneem has featured on BBC World, Al Jazeera and ABC’s Q&A, The Drum and Radio Melbourne. She is a published author and has written for The Guardian, SBS Voices & The Age as well as academic publications.

KHAYSHIE TILAK RAMESH

Khayshie is a passionate advocate for youth, multiculturalism and representation of lived experience at influential decision-making tables. She is an experienced director, legal advisor and the Multicultural Youth Commissioner of Victoria with an honours degree in law and accreditation in mediation.

Khayshie has served on a number of boards and committees including Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services, ARCJustice, Ambulance Victoria Community Advisory Committee, LEAD Loddon Murray, Victoria Volunteer Strategy Taskforce, Victorian Electoral Advisory Committee, City of Greater Bendigo Economic Strategy Steering Committee and YWCA Australia. 

Khayshie served as the Inaugural City of Greater Bendigo Youth Mayor and was instrumental in forming the first Youth Council in 2019. Khayshie has been named in the top 100 future leaders of Australia, Young Citizen of the Year 2017, Premier’s Volunteer Leadership Champion 2019, Law Student of the Year 2019 and has represented Australia at the Young Humanitarian United Nations Conference in Thailand in 2018.

Khayshie specialises in utilising user-centred design and collaborative practice to foster empathetic solutions using lived experience. Khayshie is a keen continual learner with a wide network who works across multiple disciplines to create holistic programs which champion equity and uplift marginalised cohorts. 

BELLE LIM

Belle Lim is an international student from Malaysia. She arrived in Australia in 2013 and has since completed a foundation degree as the Dux at Eynesbury College (Adelaide, SA), a Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Sciences with Honours as the Faculty Gold Medallist at Monash University (Melbourne, VIC), and is currently pursuing a PhD degree in cancer genetics and Monash University and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Melbourne, VIC). Belle serves as the National President at Council of International Students Australia (CISA) in 2020/21, after serving two terms as the National Women’s Officer in 2018-2020. Belle founded Future Female, the first conference focussing on international women in Victoria, which has featured high-profile multicultural women leaders and has welcomed over 1,100 attendees. Belle was the recipient of the prestigious Victorian International of the Year Premier Award in 2019 and represented Malaysia in the Paris UNESCO Youth Forum in the same year.

Future Forte

Future Forte is a supportive community founded by and for international students and alumni in Australia. We deliver and provide events, programs, social groups, story-telling, and community advocacy. As a collective for women and gender diverse people, we aim to uplift each other and nurture our sense of belonging in Victoria.
