Empower Program: Designing Your Career Workshop

Future Forte had the privilege of partnering with Voyage and Uncommon Collective to deliver the insightful "Designing Your Career" workshop. This event offered attendees, including myself, a valuable opportunity to pause and reflect amidst the busy demands of everyday life—whether it’s preparing for exams as students or meeting project deadlines. Taking the time to reflect on our career paths is crucial in ensuring we’re moving in the right direction.

The workshop, led by Elijah from Uncommon Collective, was particularly engaging as he shared his journey to finding a fulfilling career and offered insights into repairing our often strained relationship with work. We explored modern perspectives on career advice and reflected on our own paths.

Through a series of thought-provoking exercises, we identified our strengths—our "Zone of Genius"—and reflected on our passions, future visions, and the issues in the world we’d like to help solve. It was inspiring to hear others share their dreams and aspirations. We also crafted purpose statements and took a closer look at the stories shaping our career journeys.

In the final segment, we brainstormed potential career paths, focusing on growth opportunities and aligning them with our personal goals. Identifying tactics we could use to embark on this journey.
